Living on Purpose, Blogging on Purpose

Hi friends! Thank you so much for hanging in there with me during this long transition time.  As most of you know, we just made the move to Fargo, North Dakota to embark on the journey God has asked of my husband and I – to plant a church!  Now that we are all settled in, I wanted to take this time to reconnect with all of you and relaunch this blog.

During this time of preparation for the upcoming church plant, God has been revealing so many unbelievable things. It all has to do with living life on purpose.

We all have a unique God-designed purpose.

This may not come as a surprise to you: God created  you on purpose for a purpose.  You were born in this time and place for a reason.  The more I read and grow and get to know others and their stories, I can see God’s hand on EVERYTHING.  God has plans for you and your life.

Many of you reading this may already know what this purpose is. If so, that is wonderful! I am so excited for you.  God is going to use you for great things, I truly believe that.

Maybe you have no idea what you are here for.  You haven’t quite figured out what your purpose is yet or what you want to do with your life.  And you know what? That is okay! I was there myself just a short few years ago and  I know how frustrating it can be.  But let me offer you some encouragement in the form of one of my favorite Bible verses: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11.

Keep following God and stay close to Him. He will reveal the purpose He has for you.

Guess what? I have a unique God-designed purpose, too!

In the last couple of years, God has really revealed to me what His purpose is for me.  Over the last several months he has been constantly defining that for me and revealing it more and more as I keep stepping out in faith. I would love to share it with you:

  1. God has called me to connect with women.  If you would have told me several years ago that I was supposed to go into women’s ministry, I would have laughed in your face.  I thought many women were catty and mean and I didn’t want anything to do with them. Since then, God has completely changed my  heart.  He has not only introduced amazing women to me to change my views on them, but He has really helped me embrace what it means to be a woman myself.  Now all I want to do is be a friend to other women and journey with them while we all grow in Christ. Women’s ministry is my heart! ♥
  2. God has called me to write.  A year ago I started this blog as an answer to God’s call for me to write.  I had to step away for awhile because of life, but God never asked me to stop.  That is why I am going to be re-launcing my blog, but this time with a more specific focus: Equipping women with biblical tools to help find and fulfill their God-given purpose.  I have come to find that people are much more full of joy when they are fulfilling a purpose.  I hope to encourage other women through this blog to either start or continue on that path.  I can’t wait for us to go on this purpose-filled journey together.
  3. God has called me to help plant a church.  If any of you know Wade and I’s story, you know that God put us together.  I am so blessed to be his wife and I am extremely proud of him for fulfilling God’s call in his life – to plant a church in Fargo, North Dakota.  I am humbled to be walking along side him on this journey and will do whatever it takes to help him fulfill this calling. God put us together for a purpose and we know that it is to reach people in the Fargo area and help them find and develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.

I look at that list and I think WOW!!! That is a lot. But I have heard over and over if your dream doesn’t scare you, it isn’t big enough. My life has changed a lot in the last few years thanks to God’s AMAZING grace, and I am so thankful he continues to guide me and refine me.

My life verse says it all, “Live a life worthy of the calling that you have received.” Ephesians 4:1. I know I can never live up to this amazing call.  I am going to mess up, get frustrated, cry and probably try to quit.  But thankfully God gives us grace.

The joy and excitement I have in finding and fulfilling my own purpose is why I have changed the focus of this blog. I am devoted to encouraging and building up other women so they can focus on their own gifts and talents and the amazing plans God has for each women in life.

I want to thank you all so much for supporting me in my journey thus far.  I hope you continue to walk with me on this next step and that I can offer you some encouragement in your own calling in your life.

God bless all of you.  I can’t wait to start my blog off on a new series in this next week. Stay tuned!

Nice Chelsey! Welcome back, and thanks for the reminder that we are each here for a purpose. I also like, “If your dream doesn’t scare you, it’s not big enough.”!

Sometimes it’s a great help to just get it down in writing to get us focused in the right direction. IYou and I have a lot in common right down to the life verse. Recently, I have been studying through Genesis. The bit about God creating man in His own image struck me again in a new light. It happens directly after He has created a good world. He creates good. We as image bearers should be in that business. Your mission to lead, write, and build will do just that-create good. Can’t you almost God saying, “And it was good?” Exciting times! Keep following God’s voice. Look forward to your blogging.

It’s crazy how much I relate to this!
My husband and I just moved to Maryland to plant a church. I’ve been blogging and living on purpose too! I’ve learned it’s a process of uncovering the purpose God has for your life. It’s not immediate, and it’s sometimes frustrating. But staying the course and being obedient is so worth it!

So thank you for being obedient! Many lives will be changed and touched because of your obedience and saying, “Yes!” to Jesus’ call on your life!
