The Blessings of Hospitality

The Blessings of Hospitality

“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”
Hebrews 13:2.

One of the best times I’ve had in the last year was New Years Eve. My husband and I decided to have a get together at our home. At first I was nervous. This would be the first time I entertain a larger party in my home since we have been married and our house is not that big.

Most of the people who we invited were people we knew from church, but many of them we didn’t know that well. But they decided to come and we had the most wonderful time.

And they turned into people I will consider my friends forever. After inviting them into my home, I invited them into my heart. And we have developed a connection through Christ that has entered in our day to day lives.

When you invite someone into your home, you are not only blessing them but you are blessing yourself. By letting someone into your home, you are letting them into your life and opening up the door for an incredible friendship.

Maybe you don’t feel like your house is grand or that you don’t have much to offer as far as entertainment. Your friends don’t care about the size of your kitchen, they just want to be let in to your heart.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for giving me the home I live in. Although I may not feel like it’s the grandest or greatest, please show me opportunities to open my home to others so we can have fellowship and glorify You. Amen.

Discussion: What is something great you have found about showing hospitality to others?
