Welcome to Saturday Sweets! Each Saturday instead of my normal blog posts, I will be featuring either a guest blogger, a book review, a recipe, an open letter, or something else fun to share.
With Mother’s Day approaching tomorrow, I wanted to let someone very special to me know how much I love her. Today I am sharing an open letter to my mom.
Mother’s Day is tomorrow. Even though I’m a mama now too, every time I think of Mother’s Day, I think of you.
I want to first tell you that I love you. Even though I don’t tell you as often as I should, it’s always in my heart.
You have taught me so many things, Mom. You taught me that being a good listener is incredibly important. Thank you for always having a listening ear, all three million times I call you (and will continue to do so). You also taught me nobody is perfect and that we all need some help from God. Thank you for being transparent and honest in your struggles and allowing me to see you overcome them. It has given me the confidence to never give up. By the way, have I told you lately how proud I am of you?
Thank you for pointing me to Jesus in the most difficult times in my life. You were the one who introduced me to the church that preached love and hope in Jesus Christ – which changed everything for me. Now look at me, growing in my relationship with God, giving my life away, and married to a man who’s going to be a pastor!
I couldn’t have done all of that without you. God knew what He was doing when He made you my mama. You are so blessed, Mom. You raised three little girls into strong and confident women who are all pursuing their dreams. And now they all have babies who are calling you Grandma. Thank you for being there for each of us and now, each of them.
“Her children rise up and call her blessed,” Proverbs 31:28 (ESV). Happy Mother’s Day, Mom.
Love from your youngest little girl,
My sisters, my mom and I on my wedding day. ♥
