God commands us to love each other. Why does this have to be so hard? Why do I let my selfishness get in the way of helping and holding others. It’s because when I wake up in the morning I think about what I have to do today. What I’m going to wear. How I want to sleep longer. It’s about me me me. Well, I encourage you (and mostly myself) to put on love. When you wake up in the morning think about how you can love someone today. How you can be a friend to someone. Armor yourself in love so you can be a light for others. “Put on love,” Colossians 3:14.
I also encourage you to spend some time in God’s word and in prayer. When we lean more on Him we start to develop more of His character. And who created love after all? God.
Action Item: How you can I go out of my way to show love to someone today?
Prayer: Father, thank you for creating love. Please show me how to love your people like you do. Please help me be less selfish and pour into others. Thank you for loving me so much that you sent Jesus to die for me. Help me be the light to others. Amen.
